Abstract
Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are frequent, affecting about 1/100 birth and leading to mental disability. There is little data about ageing with ASD. This question can be approached in a number of ways, including (i) ASD symptoms assessment in the course of ageing, (ii) analysis of known physio-pathological characteristics of ASD in order to reach hypotheses concerning the ageing process, (iii) exploration of ASD comorbidities among children and young adults in order to anticipate their evolution in the course of ageing. These different approaches suggest the existence of a premature ageing. This question consequently needs to be a public health policy priority in the coming years.
