Abstract
The incidence of anaphylaxis due to food allergy (FA) is steadily rising. Despite the introduction of the Personalized Meal Plan (PMP), anaphylactic shock in school settings is by no means rare and is life-threatening for allergic children. In this article, using data from the French Allergy Surveillance Network (RAV) and from the findings of studies by different groups within the French Allergology Society (SFA), we have identified a number of approaches to prevent and better deal with such accidents: improved training of doctors in anaphylaxis, the importance of Therapeutic Education for Allergic Patients (TEAP) and those around them, harmonization of the literature on personalized plans, diffusion of the recommendations concerning indications for implementation of the PMP in France and the prescription of auto-injectable adrenaline syringes requires allergy training for all persons caring for children with allergies.
