Abstract
The unstable shoulder is a common pathology that mainly affects the young athlete. The instability of the shoulder is most often anterior and post-traumatic, responsible for recurrent dislocations or subluxations, but sometimes a pure painful shoulder. The imaging assessment reveals bone lesions with anterior instability (cephalic notch, fracture or glenoid erosion), labral and capsular tear. The surgical treatment consists either of the placement of a coracoid bone block (Latarjet procedure) or of a labral capsul reinsertion sometimes associated with a “remplissage” of the cephalic notch. Special attention should be paid to patients with congenital hyperlaxity, both for diagnosis and for therapeutic indication.
