Abstract
Venous thromboembolism is associated with substantial mortality and is largely preventable. Our study reports underutilization of thromboprophylaxis in clinical practice. Different modalities are necessary to improve adherence to thromboprophylaxis, such as implementation of a risk stratification tool at the time of hospital admission.
