Abstract
Obesity physioptahology is complex and involves several factors (genetic, behavioral, psychologicalâ¦). In this still undefined context, bariatric surgery modifies gastrointestinal tract anatomy, reduces the caloric intake and modifies gastrointestinal hormonal secretions for some of them. Aim of this work was to describe bariatric surgical procedures (sleeve, gastric band, short-gastric gastric, biliopancreatic diversion), specifying their historical context and considering possible evolutions.
