Abstract
Aortic stiffness can be estimated non-invasively by applanation tonometry with carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity. This measure may be useful in clinical practice for early identification of at risk patients. Study of the determinants of aortic stiffening process in this population may optimize cardiovascular prevention.
