Abstract
Nuclear cardiology has become an important tool in the clinical evaluation of coronary disease. Computer developments and the new available technology have improved the quality of the nuclear cardiology studies. This review will address the main advances in the equipments with special interest in hybrid technology of SPECT/CT and PET/CT, as well as the development of new tracers and drugs used to obtain these images. Furthermore the different acquisition protocols will be reviewed as well as the necessary adaptations that will be made in the near future to improve the use of the new available equipments, tracers and drugs.
