Good results were obtained with partial removal with relief of mechanical ectropion. Careful follow-up is required since residual tumor may growth to dimensions as prior removal. The natural history of hemangiomas is so characteristic that is rarely confused with other injuries. Surgery should be performed when there is damage to the function of the eyelid and when the response with local drug therapy is insufficient.
