Abstract
Positive deep tissue cultures develop in a high percentage of patients undergoing primary shoulder arthroplasty despite antibiotic prophylaxis. The long-term clinical implication of this finding requires further study, especially with regard to the risk of late failures of shoulder arthroplasty.
