Abstract
Ligament reconstruction tendon interposition was first described in its modern form by Eaton in 1985. It has since become the standard to which all other thumb carpometacarpal arthroplasty techniques have been compared. It produces reliable and reproducible outcomes that last many years. This article will review the technique, potential complications, and outcomes of ligament reconstruction tendon interposition using the flexor carpi radialis tendon.
