Abstract
Computer assisted surgery has more than two decades. From the beginning in neurosurgery, navigation was used for biopsies and intracranial tumor resections. In orthopedic surgery, a wide literature demonstrated the use of computer assisted surgery in different procedures included positioning of pedicular screws in spine surgery, join prosthesis alignment, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and trauma surgery. This technology has progressed, and more recently it was incorporated in orthopedic oncology for bone tumor resections showing promising results.
