Abstract
Resident involvement is associated with an increase in operative time for certain plastic surgery procedures. This finding underscores the need for a mechanism to quantify the time and effort that the attending surgeons allocate toward intraoperative resident education. Further study is also necessary to determine the causal impact on patient care.
