Abstract
Pediatric diabetes providers commonly defer prescribing antihypertensive and lipid-lowering medications until nonmedication interventions have been ineffective. Most providers describe medications, but not lifestyle interventions, as often effective. Efforts to align clinical practice with clinical guidelines are needed.
