Abstract
The purpose of this article is to serve as a guide for decision-making when it comes to participating in research or enrolling in a doctoral program for residents who are in training. We will try to answer several questions such as: Why to investigate, types of dissertations that can be done, which university to choose, and aspects to consider when choosing a mentor.
