Abstract
In-diffusion of 133Ba was studied in granitic rock cubes from the Olkiluoto and Grimsel in-situ test sites in the laboratory. Tracer decrease in solution as a function of time and in rock cubes as a function of intrusion depth was evaluated. The results of the experiments were modelled with PhreeqC and COMSOL Multiphysics with a one dimensional diffusion model assuming a homogeneous matrix. The results were found to be in good agreement and comparable with other strongly sorbing radionuclides data, such as 134Cs, obtained in previous laboratory and in-situ experiments.
