Performance and mechanism of Cr(VI) removal by zero-valent iron loaded onto expanded graphite

EG-ZVI can transfer electrons to the reaction system through the expanded graphite when the zero-valent iron surface is passivated, thereby ensuring that the reduction process does not stop. Furthermore, the combined effects of physical adsorption and chemical reduction achieved by modification of EG with ZVI resulted in the improved Cr(VI) removal ability of EG-ZVI.190
