Abstract
- We added litter or exudates to soils of different short-range order material content.
- Litter and root exudates induced similar priming responses among the soil types.
- The highest short-range order soil had lowest respiration, yet had the greatest priming response.
- The mineral assemblage of soil influences microbial priming responses.
