Abstract
We give existence theorems of global solutions in Llocâ((0,â);W01,â) to the initial boundary value problem for quasilinear degenerate parabolic equations of the form utâdiv{Ï(|âu|2)âu}=0, where the class of Ï(v2) includes the logarithmic case Ï(|âu|2)= log (1+|âu|2) for a typical example. We assume that the initial data belong to W01,p0,p0â¥2, or Lr,râ¥1, and we derive precise estimates for ââu(t)ââ near t=0.
