Abstract
- We investigate the transfer of δ18O variability from the atmosphere to a speleothem.
- We model the filter transferring the δ18O signal of the rainfall to a karst aquifer.
- The modelled drip water δ18O variability is accurately captured by a speleothem.
- Using an ion microprobe we calibrated a slow growth rate speleothem δ18O record.
- Annually resolved age models can be calculated from samples without annual laminae.
