Abstract
If Au concentrations in natural, quartz-hosted fluid inclusions from magmatic-hydrothermal ore deposits are affected, then they likely lost Au rather than gained it. At temperatures below 400 °C diffusional loss or gain of Au is considered unlikely in magmatic-hydrothermal systems, but potentially was significant in samples from orogenic Au gold deposits.
