Abstract
A pure homogenous reaction has been used to functionalize silica with CPTES, imidazole, melamine and saccharine. An increase in the surface areas and high thermal stability for the new hybrids was deduced. A very regular surface was obtained with hexagonal straight channels similar to those of MCM-41.166
