Abstract
Electrochemistry at the nanoscale is a very active area of research that sees the continuous emergence of new experiments, methods, tools and applications. Our ability to characterise processes at the nanoscale is unprecedented and there is an increasing ability to translate new insight to macroscopic scales, resulting in significant improvements in process efficiency and sensing capabilities. In this short review, we highlight three of these, quite recent developments, namely the evolution of advanced data analysis tools and Machine Learning in single-molecule electronics, studies on immobilised, individual nanoparticles, and nanoimpact electrochemistry, briefly review the directions they are taking, and finally how they might interact.
