Prevalence of sensorineural hearing loss in children and adolescents with diabetes mellitus

SNHL prevalence among our diabetic population was 14.3%, which indicates that a sixth of our diabetic type 1 population will develop SNHL. According to the results obtained, SNHL is more frequent among patients who have had T1DM for more than 5 years. Nevertheless, more studies are required to confirm that there is a relation between time spent with the disease and SNHL.
