Abstract
Thyroid storm can be triggered by trauma to the neck and upper chest. In the setting of a severe burn injury can be complex to diagnose and treat. In this case-report we discuss a case of a pediatric patient who suffered a high voltage electrical burn injury to his neck and chest and subsequently developed thyroid storm that was successfully treated with methimazole and corticosteroids. We discuss his medical course and treatment and outline strategies to diagnose and treat thyroid storm in the setting of a severe electrical burn injury.
