Abstract
Tezosentan improved MCQmuc without any concomitant increase in SMAFI, implying a direct positive effect on the microcirculation. TBC3711 was not effective in improving regional splanchnic blood flow or splanchnic microvascular blood flow. Dual endothelin receptor antagonism was necessary to improve MCQmuc, indicating a role for the endothelin B-receptor in mediating the microcirculatory failure in the ileal mucosa.
