Abstract
When chest CT angiography is indicated for acute pulmonary embolism, the scanning protocol of single-energy acquisitions has to be chosen with great interest in parameters ensuring artifact-free images and optimal opacification of all thoracic circulations. Since the introduction of multidetector-row CT, technological advances have made possible to reach a diagnostic image quality in the vast majority of patients.
