Abstract
We calculate the temperature dependent spin-polarized transport properties of ferromagnetic vanadium ditelluride (VTe2) single layer by using density functional theory (DFT) along with non-equilibrium Green's function (NEGF) formulation. The spin-dependent current and transmission spectrum are calculated to explain the spin filtration effect based on temperature and excellent spin Seebeck effect. A high value of Spin polarisation efficiency â¼100% is achieved at a lower value of temperature difference range. Due to the high-temperature difference between the left electrode (TL) and right electrode (TR) lower Spin polarisation efficiency is obtained. A thermal giant magneto resistance of â¼1.5â¯Ãâ¯103% is obtained and it increases with increase in temperature difference between the left and right electrode (ÎT), and it also depends on TL. The excellent characteristics such as high MR and perfect spin polarisation makes VTe2 a prominent material for spin caloritronic applications.
