Abstract
The WC/Cu textured coating was prepared using high-velocity oxygen-fuel (HVOF). The structure and wear performance of the textured coating were investigated. The results show that the soft Cu fills the gap of the hard WC islands. The WC/Cu textured coating exhibits lower friction coefficient and wear rate than that of the traditional WC coating. The wear debris can form lubricant film on the surface of Cu phase. The Cu phase can form self-lubricating film on the WC islands. The formation of the friction film on the wear surface can decreases the friction coefficient and improves the wear resistance.
