Abstract
Quality of life (QoL) is a patient reported outcome that reflects issues that directly determine one's daily activities and performance. It is now clear that it is worse in patients with newly diagnosed pituitary diseases than in normal population; successful treatment improves QoL but it often is still impaired, especially in treated acromegaly and Cushing's syndrome (in any cause of endogenous hypercortisolism), worsened if hypopituitarism is also present. The recent availability of disease-specific questionnaires in the last decade has increased the interest and knowledge and demonstrated how these evaluations are complementary to the usual biochemical and radiological parameters used to determine the status of the disease.
