Abstract
- We argue that some of ART's theoretical notions are vague (e.g., soft fascination), and lack a clear operationalization.
- ART research has failed to adequately test ART's main predictions, e.g., that nature effects are recovery effects.
- There is currently little support for ART's assumption that restoration derives from an evolved adaptive response.
- We discuss four outstanding questions for ART, and make several methodological suggestions.
