Abstract
Psychotherapy is an essential element in therapy of chronic pain. But what is it exactly? In this article we will explain different therapeutic procedures like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as the actual application of these therapies in the different sectors of our health system. Regardless of these procedures the bio-psycho-social model of chronic pain forms the basis of multidisciplinary pain management.
