Abstract
A method and a quantitative metric for the evaluation, visualization and tuning of anatomical-structure segmentation based on experts' manual contours are presented. This method allows to establish a point-to-point correspondence between automatic and manually drawn contours and enables context-sensitive evaluation and separate tuning of the segmentation of different parts of an object. The method was successfully applied for an automatic colonic polyp segmentation algorithm evaluation and tuning.
