Abstract
CT Colonography (CTC) has been developed as an alternative method to conventional colonoscopy for the early detection of colonic polyps. However, there still remain limitations which preclude its widespread use. This research provides an enhanced computer-processing methodology for the CAD component of CT Colonography, which will improve upon the current methods of CT Colonography. The techniques developed in this research include: (1) development of a segmentation process employing Active Contour Modeling and Gray Scale Analysis, and (2) development of a unique 3-Component Viewing System.
