Abstract
An e-atlas is presented as a component of a computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system implemented in the bone age assessment. It contains a standard set of radiographs, regions of interest (ROIs), and features extracted at the image processing stage. The paper describes also two other components that influence the effectiveness of the CAD system. The first one is associated with an image processing methodology, the other contains the graphical user interface that permits for a remote access to the e-atlas.
