Abstract
CT angiography has gained wide acceptance for vascular imaging. The reliability and reproducibility of the measurement of the degree of stenosis is crucial for all methods used in vascular imaging. In addition to electronic calibres semiautomatic software programs for the assessment of vascular dimensions have become available. We have investigated the use of Advanced Vessel Analysis (AVA) software (GE, medical systems) for the evaluation of carotid artery stenosis imaged with CT angiography.
