Abstract
Traumatic brain injury (TBI), also known as acquired brain injury (ABI), or stroke can cause a wide variety of visual impairments. Management strategies should include an eye health examination as well as evaluation of visual function. Specific management strategies are given for visual acuity loss, visual field loss, extra-ocular motility impairment and loss of binocular vision, cranial nerve palsies including lid paralysis, corneal involvement, and/or pupillary involvement, sensory and/or spatial imperceptions (neglect), and nystagmus.
