Abstract
This paper describes WHO's project on assessment of health risks from residential radon exposure and development of an evidence base for guidelines and policies for Member States. The project will assess global burden of disease associated with in-door radon exposure and provide tools for risk communication on radon risks and mitigation procedures. The purpose of the paper is to draw attention and encourage participation of the international scientific community and national authorities to the new initiative of WHO.
