Abstract
An interactive session was held at the Vision 2005 conference to obtain inputs for building an international research agenda on blindness and low vision. After the background was presented, attendees discussed issues of scope and specificity of research questions, some research topics, and uses of and optimal process for achieving an agenda. Diverse constituencies included leaders of consumer organizations, physicians, and persons from varied ethnic cultures including poor and developing nations. A method for participating in the future is provided.
