Abstract
A review of the cases reports presented to the “Specialist in Conservative and Invasive Physical Therapy in Myofascial Pain Syndrome” course, in Castilla-La Mancha University, is done to analyze how the knowledge of Myofascial pain Syndrome (MPS) can contribute to everyday physical therapy treatment. Results are shown as abstracts from chosen cases reports. Conclusions are: a) Trigger point therapy can be the key in the treatment of patients whose main problem is pain; b) MPS appears as a Physical Therapy diagnosis that could replace vague diagnostic terms like cervicalgia, low back pain, contracture, etc., and c) different hypothesis are extracted and summed up from this review: a part of the pain and the dysfunction that patients suffer with different diseases (articular, tendinous, visceral, orthopedic, traumatological, rheumatological or neurological diseases) could be decreased through trigger point therapy.
