Abstract
Neonatal resuscitation and intensive care present the health care professional with many ethical dilemmas. This article aims to discuss the ethical issues in relation to withholding and withdrawing treatment, quality of life and the right to life. It is hoped that this discussion provides a framework for clinical decision-making which centres on the individual infant's best interests.
