Abstract
Various approaches have been proposed, developed, and implemented for patients suffering from chronic and sometimes incapacitating hip pain. This article explores the history of surgical procedures for hip pain related to developmental dysplasia, with a focus on the Ganz periacetabular osteotomy. Finally, some future approaches that may offer ways to improve the results of periacetabular osteotomies are explored.
