Abstract
Parents and health care providers often incorrectly use the term milk intolerance to describe a wide spectrum of symptoms seen in infants who have problems digesting cow's milk. The most common reasons for milk intolerance are the negative reactions to lactose or cow's milk protein. Identification and correct diagnosis of lactose intolerance or cow's milk protein allergy is imperative to correctly recommend alterations in feeding practices or suggest formula changes.
