Abstract
US guided breast biopsy may be performed using a biopsy gun (microbiopsy) or a vacuum-assisted system (macrobiopsy). It is an alternative to surgical diagnostic biopsy allowing diagnosis of small non-palpable benign lesions or full characterization of malignant lesions. It is part of the pre-therapeutic diagnostic work-up of breast lesions.
