Abstract
The neuroanaesthesia management of patients contributing to successful surgical intervention is described. The authors focus on the principles of preoperative optimization, intraoperative anaesthetic management and postoperative intensive care. Subarachnoid haemorrhage and resection of arteriovenous malformations are discussed in detail. The management of ischaemic stroke is dealt with in brief.
