Abstract
Even in case of cancer, chronic pain is not only the persistence of an acute pain. With time, the pathophysiological mechanisms (sensitization, neuroplasticity…), the implication of psychological and social components, the pain which persists becomes a specific entity. Due to the difficulties of assessment of the patient with chronic pain, the limited efficacy of pharmacological treatments, the psychological, functional, social and occupational impact, multidimensional and multidisciplinary management appears necessary.
