The main symptoms of climacteric syndrome that we found were: hot flushes, anxiety, headache and depression, more frequently in the hypertensive women and with significant differences in relation to the normotensives. The majority of the hypertensives were overweight or obese and smokers. Most of these women took no regular physical exercise.
