Abstract
Her pregnancy was complicated by severe preeclampsia, gestational diabetes requiring insulin, and severe renal failure, necessitating premature delivery by cesarean section at 30 weeks gestation. The evolution of the 1070g female neonate was uneventful, and at two years of age she shows no signs of mitochondrial disease. However, the mother's postpartum was complicated by seizures and terminal renal failure, for which she is currently having dialysis whilst waiting for a renal transplant in the near future.
