Abstract
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a progressive, fibrosing and inflammatory disease of unknown cause. It is characterized by progressive dyspnoea, diffuse pulmonary interstitial infiltration, restrictive ventilatory insufficiency and alterations in gas exchange. Diagnosis is made by exclusion; connective tissue diseases, pharmacological toxicity, infections and other pathologies associated with pulmonary fibrosis must all be ruled out. We describe a case diagnosed at the beginning of a pregnancy with respiratory insufficiency until the end.
