Abstract
This is the first study of the association between Lp(a) and a range of cardiovascular endpoints including cognitive and disability indices in the elderly. The main finding is that Lp(a) level, while influenced by a number of baseline characteristics, is not a significant predictor of cognitive function or levels of disability, but is a predictor of combined cardiovascular events over an average 3.2 year follow-up.
