Abstract
Genitourinary injuries are a common cause of complication in abdominal and pelvic surgery. Based on clinical experience, the delay in diagnosis involves short and long term consequences in the recovery from the injury; furthermore, it is the cause of a clear rise in the morbidity of the performed surgery and also many times they present a important impact in the quality of the patient's life, and his or her sexual health.
